At Waemok Village, in Dangjin, it is possible to see the curious sight of the sun rising on the west sea. The sunrise at Waemok Village is beautiful throughout the year and is made even more mysterious when the fog spreads out over the sea. However, the sunrises from the end of October to the beginning of November and in mid February are even more fantastic. Especially, the lyrical beauty of the sun rising from the phallic rock between Nojeokbong in the sea and Yongmuchi seaside strikes deep into your heart. Kukhwa Island and Maebak Island are not too far away from Waemok Village. This seashore is tasteful and distinguished, like a poem, with the sound of the waves, the songs of the gulls, and the sight of women harvesting oysters accompanying the beautiful mood of the winter seashore. You can see the beauty of the sunset here as well. The site of Anguksa, Yeongtabsa(temple), and the sacred grounds of Solmoe are all near Waemok Village.
